Why Volunteer?

Like any convention, Gaylaxicon runs on the strength of its volunteers. Volunteers are needed to lend their talents to every department of the convention, it be security, registration, Con Suite, or just being the happy, shiny people that love to help out wherever and whenever they're needed. The kind of people who give for the sheer joy of giving. People who crave the pure satisfaction of a job well done, who bask in the admination of their hordes of followers singing their praises and inspiring epic sagas immortalizing their unselfish acts in the name of all humanity for generations to come!

How do I volunteer?

Volunteering is easy. Just fill out the Volunteer Sign-up form, or come to the Volunteers Desk during the convention and fill out a Volunteer Registration form. After you hand in your form to any staff member of the Volunteers Office, you will be issued an hour. Use this sheet to keep track of the hours you have volunteered for and worked at. Why do you have an hours sheet? Why, so we can reward you for your contribution, of course! We need this sheet properly filled out and hours signed off in order to give you the rewards you so justly deserve.

You can volunteer for as few or as many hours as you like, and still be able to enjoy the convention. After all, that's why we're all here.

A special note to High School students in Ontario - volunteering at Gaylaxicon does NOT count towards you 40 hours of community service.
